These pictures evolved as I worked on Terra Incognita and then Roget's Circular.
For "Terra" I made pictures and animations in response to my reading of some of Carmel's stories, set in her homeland, Lutruwita (Tasmania), and combined those readings with my own experience and relationship with that place. For "Roget" I worked with Tasmanian artist Melissa Smith to interweave our artistic responses to our places places of origin, with a focus on the different and similar meanings we attach to words in English language.
This body of work is an invitation for you to consider your own responses to places and the meanings you attach to words and pictures.
