2015-2016 Oceanic Bliss:
Seagrass Meadow Dreaming

1210mm x 1213mm.
Oil on cotton duck. (Detail)
Sydney Institute of Marine Science Collection

This painting is one of a series of works developed in collaboration with marine biologist William Gladstone for the installation, Oceanic Bliss,to invite exploration of the surprising diversity, interdependence and changing nature of seagrass meadows. Here I use the word Dreaming to mean what I know from Aboriginal culture and Western science, of past, present and future relationships in the physical, biological and spiritual realms.
