My story lives in your reading

The despondent soul should look at the sky
and create a little music of its own.

Destroyed

Guided by Tasmanian writer Carmel Bird I tell in this painting what I know and what I feel, and what I want you to know and to feel, that "...The devil can implant deep melancholy in the spirit, and the despondent soul should look at the sky and take a walk and create a little music of its own." Carmel Bird, 1995, The White Garden, p.134.

I read this picture now (in 2022) as a message to accept Art as ephemeral and to hold truth and beauty in relationships. This is one of many that were damaged or destroyed in a fire eight years ago. This fuzzy image is the only record of The Saffron Sound of the Pipes.
